Types of VFDs Available
Synchronous Drives
Synchronous drives are widely regarded for their high performance and efficiency, especially when running at constant speed.
DC VFDs
Unlike AC drives, these are used to control direct current motors. In practice, they are used where precise speed control is necessary.
Scalar VFDs
Scalar VFDs are the simplest in design and are mainly useful for basic speed control in AC motors.
Vector VFDs
Unlike scalar VFDs, vector VFDs have a more sophisticated control mechanism that allows them to manage motor speed and torque independently.
